Terms of Use
1. Who we are
MaxWealth is operated by [REGISTERED ENTITY NAME] ("we", "us"). By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
2. What MaxWealth is
You upload a bank statement PDF, we read the transactions out of it, sort them into categories and show you charts and totals. That is all it is.
3. What MaxWealth is not
It is not financial, investment, tax, credit or legal advice, and nothing it shows you is a recommendation. It does not know your circumstances. Decisions about your money are yours, and if they matter you should take them with someone qualified and regulated to give that advice.
We are not a bank, a financial services provider, a registered financial advisor or a credit provider, and we are not licensed as any of those.
4. Accuracy โ read this one
The numbers may be wrong. We read statements by recognising the layout each bank uses. Banks change those layouts, PDFs vary, and a statement we have not seen before may be read incorrectly or refused.
Always check anything that matters against the statement your bank gave you. Your bank's statement is the record; ours is a convenience built on top of it.
We do not warrant that categorisation is correct, that every transaction is captured, or that a total is complete. If you find a row we got wrong, you can correct it, and we would like to hear about it.
5. Your responsibilities
- Only upload statements for accounts you are entitled to see. Uploading someone else's statement without their permission may itself be unlawful.
- Keep your password to yourself if you create an account. Tell us if you think someone else has it.
- Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, and do not use it to process data you have no right to process.
6. Your data
How we handle your information is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: a statement file we can read is never stored, the transactions are, and you can have them deleted. A file laid out in a way we cannot read yet is kept, encrypted, for 30 days so we can add that layout.
7. What it costs
Nothing. MaxWealth is free to use today. There is no subscription, no trial and no card. If that changes we will say so before it applies to you, and you will never be charged without agreeing to a price first.
8. Availability
We will try to keep it running, but we do not promise that it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue it, in whole or part, at any time. Where we are shutting it down for good we will give you notice and a chance to get your data out.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or any loss arising from a decision you took on the basis of something the product showed you.
[Johan / lawyer: confirm the cap. A "limited to what you paid us" cap is the standard form and evaluates to zero here. A nominal fixed cap may be the better drafting.]
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, and nothing here excludes liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Ending it
You can stop using MaxWealth whenever you like, and ask us to delete your data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date below says when they last changed, and a material change will be flagged on the site rather than buried.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
